We started this blog to offer something to people who really want to do well in the internet marketing field, as realistic business people, not as a five minute millionaires.  We’ve discussed a few tools we can’t do the job without, and we think there are a few more that really help you in the pursuit of internet success.

Twitter, as we’ve said, is a very helpful ally in doing the business.  We’d go as far as to say that these days, if you’re planning to not use twitter, you’re planning to do things the hard way.  To use it properly, you need to provide something when you tweet to the universe and often the best way is through a link to somewhere. 

At 140 characters per tweet, you don’t want to spend most of it on long URLs.  If you get round to sending affiliate links, they can be pretty massive, and this service helps you to insert a link that won’t take your whole tweet, and also that can be tracked.  Look elsewhere on this site to get the importance of tracking where your clients come from.

Bit.ly is free.  You can go here to check them out and you can play with the link shortener to your hearts’ content.  There are hints on how to use the service on their site, and maybe when we’re cleverer, we’ll provide a tutorial, but don’t wait for us, make use of the free stuff.
