UPGRADED SELF EDITING SYSTEM
Our website self editing system has undergone a recent upgrade, making it even easier
to update your own website - even if you've had no experience creating websites. Do you know how to use Word? Then you can use our user-friendly website editor!
WebEdit is a program installed on your server that allows you to log in via secure form and make changes to your website text, images, hyperlinks, etc, using an interface that operates very much like Word. That is, you can cut, paste and highlight, make things bold, underlined, etc, insert images, make hyperlinks, and so on, and then when you click on Save it automatically converts it into your website for you. Instantly.
This program is not a replacement for a real web design program, and as such there are advanced functions (eg. databases) that this system won't do. But for those of you who need to make frequent changes to your website, this system will allow you to do it yourself, 24 hours a day, without needing to contact a web designer every time.

THIS FORTNIGHT'S QUESTION
This fortnight's question comes Trevor:
"Do you make backups of your hosting accounts, should the worst happen?"
We make backups of our hosting server on a daily basis. However, these are server-wide backups, which are for restoring the entire server should something go wrong. So, if something bad was to happen to the server, we would have a complete backup of all sites. But these are server-wide backups, to restore the entire server, and we cannot restore individual sites from this backup system. That is, if you accidently delete your site, we cannot restore it from our server backup.
Please note that under our Terms Of Service it is the responsibility of the website owner to keep a backup copy of their website, databases, etc.

WHAT LANGUAGE DO YOUR WEB VIEWERS SPEAK?
If you are an Australian based business, marketing to Australians, then you can be pretty sure that most of your viewers speak English (or Australian, which some people would argue is ever so slightly different!).
But if you are targetting a worldwide audience, bear in mind the following statistics taken from a survey by www.sedo.com, which shows the percentage of web users worldwide and the languages they speak:
English - 35.2%
Chinese - 13.7%
Spanish - 9%
Japanese - 8.4%
German - 6.9%
French - 4.2%
