AT LEAST GET SOME POCKET MONEY FROM YOUR WEBSITE

This is the honest truth: You CAN earn additional money from your website without any extra work!

The additional money you earn could be enough for a restaurant meal each month, or perhaps a weekend away every month, or even more! This will depend on the amount of traffic your website gets. But even if it's only enough for a meal out every now and then, who would say no to that?

It's done through Google Adsense. This is the system where Google places targeted ads on your website, wherever YOU choose, and you earn a percentage of the price each time someone clicks on them. It takes hardly any time to set up, and then once it's done, the only work you have to do each month is bank the cheque.

To view an example of how Google Adsense works, visit www.southwestlife.com.au/enterprise1205.htm

To find out more about Google Adsense, visit www.google.com/adsense

And if you need help installing it, contact us.

So, whether your website is currently making a lot of money or a little bit of money, at least earn a bit of pocket money on the side through Google Adsense.

THIS FORTNIGHT'S QUESTION

This fortnight's question comes Steve:

"Is it true that I should link to as many sites as possible to increase my search engine ranking?"

It's actually the amount and type of incoming links that are important, not outgoing links. That is, you need to work on increasing the amount of links pointing to your website, from other websites. Often, you'll find that most sites won't link to you unless you provide a link back too, and that's OK, but it's the incoming links that are important, not the outgoing ones. The more incoming links you have, the more popular your site will appear to the search engines. Also, the more links you have from sites about a particular subject, the more the search engines will believe your site is about that subject, and subsequently rank you higher for it.

Got a question? Send it to us at admin@southwestecommerce.com and we'll do our best to answer it, as well as publish one every fortnight for everyone to see.
