SAVE UP TO $90 ON YOUR NEXT DOMAIN RENEWAL
How much are you spending on your .com.au domain name
renewals? $140 for 2 years? That's the price that the majority of Australian businesses are paying, even though domains can be renewed for around $50 for 2 years.
How can this happen? Many years ago, before the market was deregulated, the only provider of Australian domain names charged $140 per domain name. When the deregulation changes came in the price quickly fell, except for this particular provider (you may know who we're talking about) who has always kept their price at $140. Perhaps it's because they've got so many domains on their books, they feel they can keep it at $140.
But guess what? You don't have to renew your domain name through the same registrar you purchased it from. Under the .com.au domain rules you can transfer your domain name to another registrar at any time for no charge. Then, once your domain is transferred, that registrar will then handle your renewals, at their prices.
How much are you paying? If you're one of the majority of Australian businesses paying $140 for 2 years (or even higher), why not transfer your domain to our registry system, and enjoy the benefits of $55 renewals, plus free URL forwarding if required.
Note that changing your domain name registrar has no effect on your hosting or website whatsoever.
To transfer your domain name, simply do one of the following:
- Reply to this email with your domain name, and we will help you through the process of transferring; or
- If you'd prefer to do it yourself, visit http://domains.southwestecommerce.net.au and open up a free account (click on "Join Us & Save"). Then once you've logged in, just click on Transfers and follow the instructions.

"How many email addresses can I have with my domain name, when I use your hosting service?"
Unlimited. That is, you can have as many email addresses as you want @yourdomainname.com.au, regardless of whether they are real email addresses, forwarders, autoresponders, whatever.

ARE YOU MEASURING YOUR ONLINE ADVERTISING RESULTS?
One of the great things about advertising on the Internet is that almost everything is measurable. When you pay someone for a directory listing, banner space, link, or whatever, all of the traffic from that ad is able to be tracked. That is, the provider of your advertising is able to report to you on how many visitors your website received from your advertising.
This is vital information, and if they haven't provided it to you, ask for it. That way, if you've spent $200 on an advertisement and it's brought you 20 visitors, you can decide whether $10 a visitor is an acceptable price to pay next time. Or perhaps you can concentrate on the advertising that's returning visitors at only $0.10 each. It's important to measure how much your traffic is costing you.
