.ASIA DOMAIN NAME LAUNCH
The new .asia domain name has finally arrived!
.asia domains are available to anyone who resides in the Asian region, which has been defined to include Australia and New Zealand. This means that if your business exports overseas, or is of interest to people in the Asian region, you may want to consider purchasing a .asia domain (eg. www.yourbusiness.asia).
Due to the considerable interest in securing .asia domains, the registrar has decided that until 12 March they will be using a "landrush" system, meaning that all domain requests before that date will be held in a pool, and then after that if there is only one purchaser of the domain they get it, and if there are more than one there will be a bidding process to determine the winner.
Any registrations lodged after that date will go through the normal "first-in-first-served" arrangement.
.ASIA domain names are $55 for two years.
